Culture house Rozet

By 08-02-2016

Designed by Neutelings Riedijk Architecten from Rotterdam, culture house Rozet is a new building in the heart of Arnhem. It embodies an invitation to the visitors to get inspired by knowledge and culture. Sand-colored elements with reliefs and rosettes do not only determine the image but also guide the visitor in the building along all facilities.

In the building, an elongated public gallery leads along the entrances of the different domains: the educational and cultural institutions that are housed in this new building. Along this glazed inner street are exhibition rooms, foyers and an auditorium, just as if they are squares or meeting spaces within a small urban structure. A structure that visibly connects the different functions in the building.

With the shape and volume of the building and the dimensions and articulation of the façade, Rozet establishes a connection with the surrounding urban fabric. In the interior, the public gallery with its carefully threaded bookcases, lighting displays, showcases and light boxes invite the visitors to further discover the building.

The project Rozet was nominated for the Abe Bonnema Architectuurprijs 2015.
