Dutch landscape inspiration for carpets

By 21-01-2017

For over four years Bos & co. has been designing carpets that have been inspired by the Dutch cultural landscape. From harvested potato and bulb fields to covered asparagus beds; the vast landscape offers inspiration to combine knitting patterns in various colors.

Corien Bos, designer of Bos & co., once bought a knitting machine on the off chance, with which she, apart from her work as a graphic designer, started experimenting. With the limitation of 200 knitting stitches, this led to loosely knit strips that next to each other form a magnificent whole. As a result, each carpet from the collection contains a subtle reference to the often graphic magnificent display of colors of the Dutch landscape.

What started as an experiment has developed into a thriving production of handmade carpets. Each piece is unique. And in addition to the existing collection the carpets are also specially designed to customer orders.
