Bart Bost – Stroller Greentom
One Week About design from Limburg by Curator Cube design museum
Bart Bost (Kerkrade 1964) studied engineering at the RWTH Aachen and industrial design in Genk. After having worked for years as a designer for different baby stroller brands, he decided to storm the market himself.
His goal was: developing the greenest, simplest baby stroller in the world, one of which the production process should not depend on low-wage countries. In 2013 he started researching and experimenting. The final result was Greentom, which was awarded the ‘best of the best’ Red Dot Award 2016 and the Maastricht Award ‘Made in Maastricht’ 2016.
Greentom is the first and only baby stroller in the world that is made of 100% recycled raw materials and can be recycled again after use. The frame is made from recycled polypropylene and the seat from recycled soft drink bottles. Also the objective of keeping it simple was achieved: the stroller consists of 90% fewer parts than the ones produced by the competition. Parents can choose from three Greentown models in numerous designs.
