Mondriaanhuis

By 26-03-2017

100 years of The Stijl
The Mondriaanhuis in Amersfoort was renewed and reopened on March 7, Mondriaan’s birthday. Tinker imagineers devised the multimedia concept and a new design for the interior.

In the house where Piet Mondriaan was born, visitors travel through the life of this self-willed pioneer of abstract art: from Amersfoort to Winterswijk and from Amsterdam via Paris and London finally to New York. They discover his iconic work, his spiritual formation, his interests and friends. At the same time they are immersed in his artistic quest.

The journey starts with a video installation of his oeuvre. A musical picture story that takes the visitor, through Mondriaan’s early landscapes and the colourful seascapes, to his characteristic abstract work. Always accompanied by the music of his time and his taste, from Ravel to jazz, from Stravinsky to boogie-woogie.

In the near future Tinker will continue building on the Mondriaanhuis and add, among other things, a tour along the highlights of his Dutch period, an upgrade of his Parisian studio and DIY workshop, and his London interlude.
