Cirque du Data Show
Cultural city lab RAUM approached Clever°Franke to help curate an event to show people how data could improve city living. Clever°Franke came up with a ‘circus show’ aimed to let visitors discover what their ideal data world looks like. ‘Cirque du Data Show’ – produced by RAUM and directed by Luca Stappers – took place in Utrecht on November 1-3.
During the show, datafication was reinterpreted as an exuberant theatrical performance. Visitors were confronted with the ways in which we can ‘give away’ our data in daily life and with the question if we have enough influence on the ownership of our data. Data were also collected during the show by means of a ‘mentimeter’, an online tool through which visitors could influence the show.
The Data Show is over, but there is still an inspiring exhibition to visit at RAUM until December 1.
