Temporary Tapestry

By 11-06-2016

Buying the complete A4 paper section of a bankrupt stationery store gave Voorn the content for his new series: playful patterns in typical Thomas Voorn style: subtly twisting reality with a wink at daily life.

In the AFour series Voorn merges his love for color and print, and his fascination for the aesthetic border between dose and overdose in design. AFour is an exploration of randomness, order and coincidence. Each print started out with a bunch of A4 papers thrown about and made into a photographic image. Voorn produced paper prints live on the wall and digitized them. He then printed these designs and photographed them again, layering new on top of old.

In so doing, Voorn developed a new style of wallpaper: ‘Temporary Tapestry’. Loose sheets of paper applied to a wall create a photo/graphic pattern and a bold statement in your home. Several sets of designs are available in the webshop.
