Another Month, Another Paper

By 06-07-2022

Winner Silver –  European Design Awards 2022
Category Card & Flyer

The internationally renowned paper production company Fedrigoni Paper, created a ‘AMAP’ every month in 2021. AMAP stands for ‘Another Month, Another Paper’ and with this they invite a printer and designer to create a flyer. With two restrictions. The first is that the flyer should be made out of Fedrigoni Paper and in A5 format. And second, a column of information designed by the Fedrigoni team, should be visible on the outside. The goal of the flyer is to inspire creators and designers and to show the beauty of Fedrigoni paper. AMAP is envisioned, to share the pearls of paper Fedrigoni has with the world.

The Dutch printer Coers & Roest invited Dana Dijkgraaf to design the flyer. She wanted to use different kind of papers and create an interesting object to emphasize the material, rather than a 2D print set on a doublesided printed flyer. The result was a A5 folded flyer with a small pop up inside. The flyer has become an ode to printed matter and paper. And with the sentence ‘Loving printed matter to the sun and back’ and the scientific formula of photosynthetics on the inside with the sentence ‘made possible by the sun’, it also recognizes the powerful role of the sun and our ecosystem.

The flyer is printed with three kinds of colored paper from the Sirio paper range: Iris, Nude and Paglierino. We used white Arena Smooth paper as a base for the neon pink ink. In the inside of the booklet, we printed silver ink on the vibrant blue Iris paper. The flyer became an interesting composition and color combination and it became a high-profile object amongst Fedrigoni and Coers & Roest.
