Back Me Up family
This year, the Back Me Up lineup for Montis has expanded once again. Time for a complete overview of this growing family of designs. “Four years ago I designed the Back Me Up, my first chair for Montis. Every year since, we’ve followed up with another piece, adding to the lineup of friendly, contemporary designs that are made to be combined.” Chairs with and without armrests are easily paired, and make attractive, harmonious combinations. Details in our Back Me Up Table match those of our chairs, and are offered in various colors and wood types. Create a unique table setup by adding a two-seater, like the distinctive Back Me Up Two.
’Back me up’ is all about providing support, and that is exactly what this chair does. The carefully crafted comfort serves to support the user, while the organic back offers a warm welcome and a gentle bounce. Exactly where needed, the seat and back allow a surprising amount of comfort, without sacrificing the crisp edges in the fabric. Brekveld: “The name refers to the back of the chair—the side that is most visible in everyday life. I’ve tried to make this stand out by pushing it up by a few centimetres. This subtly exposes the seat, revealing a controlled play of lines in which the legs come out elegantly. A graphic effect that is reinforced by the combination of fabrics.”
