Module

By 22-01-2017

Illustrator Ben van Brummelen has been living all his life in Amsterdam. His visual language is characterized by graphic influences.

Ben: “Because of the mix of illustration and graphic design, I have a bit of a crazy but unique position. People often find it difficult to categorize or pigeon-hole me. The project that I am most proud of is my own clothing line: Module. Especially the custom jackets that I paint on and provide with image.”

“Initially, the idea was that I should start wearing them myself hoping that people would start talking to me and offer me the chance to proudly explain that I, an illustrator, make them myself. Eventually, this idea has led to the creation of Module.”

“All pieces are handmade and unique. In addition to the custom jackets I have also made patches, pins and clothes hangers. As an illustrator I focus especially on the prints and the printing of the garments. It’s more than just image. As the pieces are worn, they are brought to life and movement.”
