CAPITAL C – Capital Kitchen

By 29-08-2022

A new centre for the creative industry.
The former ‘Diamantbeurs’ in Amsterdam is restored, modernized and has opened its new doors as Capital C: A centre for the creative industry. With offices, event spaces, meeting rooms, pop-up art galleries, co-working space and a recently opened restaurant called Capital Kitchen, the building offers a variety of services to all kinds of creative minds. From business dinners and product launches to conferences, company parties and even fashion shows. Anything is possible in this building. The interior design has been taken care of by a select group of artists, top designers and upcoming talents.

Art, design and architecture integrated in overall concept
In Capital C, all areas of the creative industry come together: advertising, design, digital, media, art & communication. It is a place where creative agencies, media companies, corporates, start-ups and freelancers work, meet & celebrate.

Especially designed for this building
Richard Hutten decorated a very special event space in the heart of the building and a light fixture of Rick Tegelaar decorates the main hall. Established and upcoming designers worked on the interior design of several meeting rooms, including Tejo Remy & René Veenhuizen, Erik Kessels, Ineke Hans, Dirk Vander Kooij, Aart van Asseldonk, Klaas Kuiken and Sabine Marcelis. In total, about 25 designers and artists were involved in the development of the building.

Capital Kitchen
The design of the newly opened Capital Kitchen restaurant was conceived by Maarten Spruyt. Artist Joep van Lieshout designed the piece above the central bar. This eye-catching sculpture is a – disassembled – human skeleton that symbolizes the exposure of the inner self..’

Peel Plaza
This summer, the terrace in front of the building – an impressive landscape by Gabriel Lester called Peel Plaza – will be finished.
