Consilium Humanum

By 20-01-2018

Children are curious about small insignificant things in the street. They pick them up, put them in their pockets and upon coming home display their treasures on the table. What would happen if you sort out all those small meaningless objects, name them and give them a carefully selected place in an ever-expanding collection? What if you rebalance your thoughts about mankind on the basis of this classification?

Graphic Designer Ab Bol has given shape to these thoughts in his Consilium Humanum. The Consilium Humanum is a classification system that is made up of eight taxa or main groups. These are multi-interpretable themes related to mankind. The families in turn consist of one or more family members, the species. In total there are 41 classification types that are in shape similar to butterfly vitrines.
