Dana Dijkgraaf at Museum Arnhem

By 21-11-2022

In spring 2022 Dana Dijkgraaf was commissioned by the renewed Museum Arnhem to create the graphic design with her sparkling signature to three opening exhibitions titled Consume By, From Left to Right and OPEN.

Consume By
13 May 2022 until 9 January 2023
Can art change how people relate to the Earth? With its own collection as the point of departure, Museum Arnhem seeks to connect with what is perhaps the most pressing global political and social discussion on nature conservation, climate change, and sustainability. The depletion of the Earth is of concern to an increasing number of people in the Netherlands, but its consequences have already been felt in many places around the world for a long time. Museum Arnhem invites you to discover more about the stories and relationships between people and nature in its opening presentation, Consume By.

From Left to Right
A new perspective on a century of Neo-realism
13 May 2022 until 23 November 2022
Museum Arnhem is known for its collection of Neo-realism. In the 20th century, modern artists sought a reorientation through the lens of daily life, new social realities, and realistic painting techniques. But why is it that, within this art movement, one artist is forgotten while another is not? For a long time, our perception of the Neo-realism of the 1920s and ’30s was dominated by artists such as Dick Ket, Carel Willink, and Pyke Koch, who are all well-known today. The exhibition From Left to Right examines the influence of political polarisation on the art and careers of artists during the interwar period. Quite a few artists who have long been excluded from art history are introduced, among them Harmen Meurs, Nola Hatterman, and Berthe Edersheim.

OPEN
13 May 2022 until 1 January 2024
With the exhibition OPEN, Museum Arnhem lends momentum to the educational tradition started by Pierre Janssen, the museum’s director from 1969 to 1982. The experience-oriented presentation offers visitors an in-depth viewing experience and invites them to approach works in different ways, as well as to share these experiences with each other.
