Dashes

By 22-11-2019

One space is increasingly being used for different purposes, which makes it important that spaces can be flexibly arranged.

To increase the use of space, Orange or Red has developed Dashes, in collaboration with Textiellab. Dashes textile object can be used as a tapestry as well as a connector between the different surfaces in a room  – wall, floor, furniture and ceiling.

Various weaving techniques are used to create this object, combining industrial and artisan methods. As a result a dialogue takes place between the surfaces, both in the textile itself and in its application in a room.

In addition, an optical effect has been incorporated into the object, resulting from the colour gradient in the background of the pattern: the dark stripes at the top merge into the background, while they catch the eye in the lighter panel at the bottom.
