NE WEEK ABOUT Design from Den Bosch by curator Petra Janssen (Social label)

We all live or work in this beautiful city. We are at work in a calm and concentrated manner. Experience the special pearls from the Dutch design community from Den Bosch, today Design Museum Den Bosch.

Design Museum Den Bosch is the most eminent design museum in The Netherlands. We show the influence of design on our daily lives and we tell the story behind it. We highlight the cultural significance and the role of design in history, now and in the future.

Currently, Design Museum Den Bosch presents the exhibition ‘BodyDrift – Anatomies of the Future’. What does the future of the human body look like? In this exhibition, designers and artists explore the moral and technological boundaries of the body. ‘Bodydrift – Anatomies of the Future’ is about the recent history and the future of our body. It presents an overview of where we are today and provides a speculative exploration of the new human being in a spectacular exhibition design by Bart Hess and Harm Rensink. With works by Ted Noten, Ana Rejcevic, Walter Pichler, Lucy McRae, Bart Hess, Zach Blas, Heather Dewey-Hagborg, Neri Oxman, Frederik Heyman, Sara Nuytemans and others.

It also presents the exhibition ‘The poster is dead’. We are surrounded by pictures: everywhere commercials are fighting for our attention. But where in the past posters used to stand still, nowadays our gaze is more and more often drawn by moving images. The traditional graphic design on paper is gradually being replaced by motion design on screens. In the exhibition ‘The poster is dead’ Design Museum Den Bosch presents the work of eight design agencies that play a role in the emergence of digital advertising design in the outdoor space.
