Driving Dutch Design – Gigi van Grevenbroek

By 25-08-2022

ONE WEEK ABOUT Driving Dutch Design by curators Patrick Aarts Sen (BNO) and Katja Lucas (DDF)

Driving Dutch Design is the professionalisation and networking programme of ABN AMRO, Beroepsorganisatie Nederlandse Ontwerpers (BNO) and Dutch Design Foundation (DDF) that helps talented designers get started in the world of entrepreneurship. Gigi van Grevenbroek is one of them.

Gigi van Grevenbroek makes the world a little more accessible with her illustrations. As an illustrator she works on projects from her studio in Amsterdam. She mainly works on commission for clients such as the Rijksmuseum, Mysteryland, the World Wildlife Fund and Women Inc. She also makes time for her own work and runs a webshop with fun paper goodies. You can find her recognizable illustrations on murals, window drawings, editorial images and online on websites and social media.

Gigi’s work is colorful, full of lines and accessible to a wide range of people. Behind each work you will find an important story that makes the viewer aware of different stories. Gigi gets her inspiration from social subjects such as the Indian Culture in the Netherlands and equal rights. Sustainability is inextricably linked to this, so she uses only recycled paper from the Netherlands for her postcards, business cards and prints.
