By 11-08-2022

ONE WEEK ABOUT Driving Dutch Design by curators Patrick Aarts Sen (BNO) and Katja Lucas (DDF)

Driving Dutch Design is the professionalisation and networking programme of ABN AMRO, Beroepsorganisatie Nederlandse Ontwerpers (BNO) and Dutch Design Foundation (DDF) that helps talented designers get started in the world of entrepreneurship. Zindzi Zwietering is one of them.

Zindzi Zwietering (1992, NL) is an artist working mainly with photography. Her work tends to start off from photography, but usually evolves in various other media such as silk screens, drawings and recently ceramics. She holds a BA in photography from the Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague and is a recipient of the Mondriaan Stipend for Emerging Artists. As a photographer she works for editorial clients such as Vandejong Agency, de Volkskrant and publisher Unieboek | het Spectrum. Her book ‘Bron’ was recently published by publisher the Eriskay Connection. Zwietering exhibited at the Lakenhal Museum and Art Rotterdam. Upcoming are Unfair, Unseen and Dutch Design Week. Her work is acquired by numerous private collections.

Zindzi Zwietering looks at how invisible phenomena increasingly shape our daily lives. She renders the abstract clear and brings the hidden into focus. Zwietering looks at things that usually go unnoticed. Her work tends to start off from photography, but usually evolves in various other media such as silk screens, drawings and recently ceramics. In this geologically changing world, she attaches value to proximity and interpretation. She investigates the human perspective on a world subject to climate crisis.
