Glass wear

By 07-11-2020

“I find many of my form elements in existing industries and turn these into individual objects. I get a lot of inspiration from all kinds of product categories and (mass) production techniques. Out of anonymous mass products I make individual pieces that speak to our imagination and feelings.”

“Glass Wear was created during an experimentation period at The Glass Factory in Sweden. I was able to work one-on-one with a glass blower.”

“In my work I often use assembling techniques and I wanted to see if I could translate this into glass. The Glass Factory has an archive of moulds that I was invited to use. The idea came up to make a series of glass pieces that could be dressed. By stacking different elements you can create endless outfits and characters. This also changes the way you interact with these object and this fragile material: every part is interchangeable, it wants you to play with it.”
