HIDE

By 29-06-2016

The collection HIDE by Nanna van Blaaderen is inspired by animals and today’s woman. Collaborating with Dutch knitting factories she developed innovative three-dimensional knitwear with wool as an alternative to fur.

For HIDE she designed among others fabrics and garments with patterns of zebra’s, leopards and giraffes. This specific knitting technology combined with merino wool’s refined, breathing and lightweight characteristics made it possible to create comfortable, elegant designs.

Nanna: “I have always been fascinated by the thin line between fragility and strength we see in nature. How does our appearance affect our sense of comfort and confidence? In nature we can find intelligent and beautiful appearances of hides, furs and feathers. Elegance and functionality are integrated and even complementary. Beauty is combined with protection, warmth and mobility.”

Nominated for the Dutch Design Awards 2016
