“As a designer you are trained to make functional products, or at least products with some sort of a function to them. When I was asked by Modern Design Review to make a decorative accessory for Hem, I scratched my head a few times to find the function of a decorative accessory.”
“Somehow a house of cards, a thing that I had been fascinated by for a while now, struck a few chords when it came to absolute uselessness but also beauty, vanity and its clever and fragile construction.”
“To make the house of cards into a product, we created a cheats version where seventeen cardboard panels can slide together into a sturdy construction. The house of cards was first produced in a limited edition of a hundred pieces, all with their own unique color combination and launched at the London Design festival 2019.”
