Lecture Renate Boere

By 25-05-2017

Every first Thursday of the month De Monsterkamer organises an Open Doors + special guest event. This time we have invited Renate Boere (1970). Studio Renate Boere has worked for the cultural sector for 20 years, and has designed more than 65 books together with artists.

During her presentation at De Monsterkamer, Renate Boere will discuss the journalistic novel ‘Ik vraag u iets meer lef te tonen’ (I ask that you show a little more courage).

After rarely coming across meaningful social design solutions, Renate Boere decided to start a project of her own and to simultaneously write about it. This brought her into a completely new world of confidentiality agreements, copyright, complex contracts, partnerships with very diverse stakeholders, subsidy applications, hybrid publishing and even winning international awards.

Studio Renate Boere is a design studio that explores the newest working practices in the field of graphic design. The studio prefers to work in partnership with businesses, agencies and governments, artists and students to develop innovative products that contribute to a sustainable society. In addition to commissioned graphic design work, the studio also develops interactive installations, hybrid publishing and self-initiated products. Research into the newest social media channels to create visibility for these innovative products is an important part of their work.
