LVST

By 19-09-2016

On July 3, the Hague photographer Lex van Pieterson launched the book ‘LVST’ on which he had worked for ten years. LVST (Laos, Viet Nam, Singapore, Thailand) is a marvelous photo book about the part of South-East Asia where his heart is.

Lex van Pieterson is a studio photographer by origin. He is quite well-known in the design world for his work for leading design agencies such as Studio Dumbar. For the book LVST he made many trips to the Far East.

Lex van Pieterson: “The ‘unfinishedness’ in those parts of the world leaves much to the imagination. Here, everything is neat, tidy, well-arranged, which I find boring. In fact, it doesn’t leave one not much room for manouvering.”About his way of making photographs: “I work analog, I don’t do anything with the computer. Everything is photographed with one single lens, without zoom. In terms of vision, however, I dare say that it is nevertheless modern work.”
