Memory Shop

By 11-11-2017

If you were under the impression that chefs only cook, guess again. Creative Food Studio and AnoukxVera created an exhibition in the VDMA building in Eindhoven during the Dutch Design Week 2017 where they challenged your perception of traditional dining and where all your senses were stimulated.

In Memory Shop fashion designers, graphic designers, interior designers and ceramicists joined forces. All exclusively designed items were for sale. Apart from the exhibition, an exclusive gastronomic lunch experience took place three times, adhering to the principles of the new “experiental dining” movement. 15 designers from the Design Academy Eindhoven were involved in creating this exclusive lunch.

Naresh Ramdjas (one of the curators): “People love to eat in restaurants, myself included. But how do you experience this when everything you eat, see and feel unites and shapes the whole? The focus is not only on the food, but every detail stimulates your senses. From the ceramics and the furniture to the clothes of the staff. We have a lot of great designers who make ridiculously beautiful things, which end up in the store, and then that’s it. I want everything to come alive. To experience the details and to feel it from your head to your toes.”
