Noa Verhofstad
Noa Verhofstad graduated cum laude from the Theatre School in Arnhem in 2017. After briefly having worked as a theater director and curator, she took the first step towards staged photography. Her images are carefully constructed, every building block of the picture is devised and constructed by the photographer. She often portrays young adults and children in a highly stylized environment. These sets have been built from scratch and with an eye for the tiniest details. With a keen sense of aesthetics and the love for the mysterious, alienating and unpleasant, each building block is carefully thought out. Like a quiet movie image, a story unfolds in which the tragedy of the main character always remains tangible.
