Novel Grey
Label Novel Grey was founded in November 2021 by Marjolein and Jan-Paul Deurloo as a high-end interior wall decoration label with sustainable concrete wall tiles and objects. This designer couple works in a material-driven design studio Beton-Lab, specialized in aesthetic and sustainable concrete. Novel Grey is their story of how they want to make the world a better and more beautiful place.
Although their concrete is very durable and saves up to 76% compared to regular concrete (which is a specialty in itself), Novel Grey strives to design fantastic wall tiles with an extraordinary look and feel. All wall tiles are 3D shaped, with both geometric and organic shapes inspired by nature. Novel Grey aims to stimulate and inspire the senses with surprising and refined finishes. Every Novel Grey wall tile wants to leave a lasting impression.
They are designed with the well-being of the users in mind. Not only by addressing their inner need for self-expression, but also by their lasting content. These beautiful tiles are made from ugly waste. Old concrete buildings and other concrete rubble are ground into aggregate that replaces sand and cement. Beton-Lab also developed a recipe for use in the Novel Grey collection with waste from the metal industry to create a cement-free concrete with a CO2 reduction of up to 76%!
