Postcard Size Artworks

By 02-05-2019

Renowned artists and designers create postcard-size artworks exclusively for the Post Modern Collection, resulting in a growing collection of collector’s items.

Post Modern Collection: “Artists tend to develop large, thus pricier works. We ask them to tell their story on a smaller scale, getting a collection of handmade, unique, affordable artworks by contemporary makers. The compact measurements of the postcard challenge the artists to think and work in a different way. This often points the artists in a new direction in their work. New experiments, horizons, territories.”

“We work together with artists as well as designers and we present them in both the art world and in the design context. Post Modern acts as a springboard for these makers. We broaden the network of the participants as much as possible. New opportunities, connections and collaborations are created. With the revenues of the Post Modern sales, artists can invest in their general artistic development.”

“Post Modern is not a gallery but a traveling exhibition. The presentation of Post Modern triggers the public because of its dynamics. You can see totally different narratives, techniques, and materials. People get a good sense of what goes on in the (applied) arts. Plus: art lovers with a smaller budget can start their own art collection.”

Participating artists until now: Robert Nicol, Boris de Beijer, Job van den Berg, David Bernstein, Roosje van Donselaar, Tijs Gilde, Caz Egelie, Floris Hovers, Chris Kabel, Joncquil, Nynke Koster, Paul Nassenstein, Kevin Nieuwenhuijs, Lex Pott, Jólan van der Wiel.

Woes van Haaften (founder) and Roosje van Donselaar will continue to invite artists and designers to showcase new possibilities with the postcard format.
