René Holten – bath Hammock and tap Kaldur

By 23-02-2017

One Week About design from Limburg by Curator Cube design museum

After having worked for a number of years at Archoplan Architects and then as head of product development at Artifort, designer René Holten (Roermond, 1961) started his own studio in 1998.

René Holten Industrial Design is a design studio for industrial product design, especially furniture and bathroom fixtures. His designs are characterized by their sober, clear design and sustainability. In 2016, both his bath tap Kaldur and bath tub Hammock were awarded the Red Dot: Best of the Best, the award for the best design in a specific category. René Holten designed both the bath tub and the bath tap for Clou BV, the producer of designer bathroom products.

Kaldur is the name of a series of taps designed for Clou. These design taps are distinguished by their slender diameter of 20 mm. They include a 16-mm ceramic lining. The taps are made of polished chrome. Hammock is a bathroom line for Clou, consisting of three bathtubs and three sinks of marble-colored composite, glossy or matt, with matching mirrors and cabinets. The water trap of silicones is executed in five colors.
