Reprint Ceramics

By 09-01-2021

Reprint Ceramics was initiated by Fabrique Publique and Coudre Studio, supported by the EU WORTH Partnership Project. It combines the innovative 3D clay printing methods developed by Coudre Studio, with the ceramics recycling by Fabrique Publique.

Fabrique Publique started investigating the possibilities of ceramics recycling mid 2017, using both casting and pressure molds, which led to a series of plates and vases that contain up to 30% recycled material.

Reprint Ceramics aim to make products with at least a 50% recycled content, prove that ceramic waste can reduce supply chain costs & ecological footprint and show that ceramic waste can be upcycled into beautiful new 3D printed products.

The project output
• Parametric lamps showing the benefit of recycled material combined with 3D printing techniques.
• Pre-made recycled clay packages ready to use. Recycled clay packages will be outsourced to ateliers that work with people with a distance to the labor market. The ateliers where the packages are made will also serve as collection points for the public to bring their obsolete pieces of ceramics.
• An open source knowledge platform to make information accessible to anyone by providing open manuals with printer and formulation documentation.
• Workshops and consultancy.
