Robin Pleun Maas

By 20-02-2018

Robin Pleun Maas is a product and material designer with love for textiles. During her studies at the Design Academy in Eindhoven she explored the field of interior materials and fashion accessories. Her designs arise from a playful experiment and intuitive process in which the material is the starting point.

Her graduation project “acoustic landscapes” and “structured textiles” are an example. When viewers change their position from the carpet or manipulate the textiles with their hands, the interwoven patterns are revealed to encourage continued interaction.

Besides its visual appeal they can offer a functional role. They can serve interiors in more than one way. She wants to redefine the boundaries and characteristics of the material and thereby aims to create innovative combinations and unexpected functions and forms. Now she is focusing on knitted surfaces and textiles and how they can affect interiors.
