Sale Nobili

By 09-09-2021

ONE WEEK ABOUT Masterly – The Dutch in Milano by Nicole Uniquole, founder and curator of Masterly.

For me it was important to organize Masterly in a Palazzo with historic rooms. In these rooms contemporary design comes into its own extremely well. Five years ago this search led to this typical Milanese city palace. I knew right away: this is where it has to happen.

With on the second floor three beautiful rooms, called ‘Sale Nobili’, upholstered in silk velvet with mirrors, decorations and sculptures, with a magnificent fireplace. Everything pure craftsmanship: floors, walls and ceilings.

In the ‘Sale di Flora’ alumni of Driving Dutch Design present; Fransje Gimbrère, Rive Roshan, House of Thol and Selma Hamstra. But also Geir Nustad who represents with verve glass city Leerdam. In the Sale ‘Salottino Azzurro’ with the large neo-Renaissance fireplace the Floor Jewels by Roelfien Vos for Besouw shine. In the ‘Sale di Promoteo’ 212 Fahrenheit shows their intriguing installation ‘Lifelight’. Also on display are objects by Nynke Koster with latex prints of historic buildings that fit in perfectly here.

The atmosphere of the rooms means that little is needed to do justice to a presentation. The trick is to make sure your presentation fits in optimally with the craftsmanship and appearance of the rooms. You then immerse yourself in the atmosphere of craftsmanship and mastery. A photogenic top location!
