TextielHULDE

By 12-07-2020

This summer Marjan Eggels will be showing a selection of her textile works in the shop windows of the Annex from June 19 up to and including 23 August . These works express a lively desire to experiment with material and technology. This shop window exhibition can be seen 7 days a week from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

A wide variety of textile working forms, that is what immediately draws the attention to her designs. Knitting, spinning, embroidering, lasering, 3D computer design: in the work, both artisanal and contemporary techniques intermingle. At the same time, Marjan Eggels always tries to find the boundary of the material used during her voyage of discovery.

At present, Eggels often applies her textile work in the field of interior design. In addition to wool vases, knitted lamps and room  dividers inspired by templates made by the architect Pierre Cuypers (1827-1921), the Annex also shows necklaces made of knitted metal and some couture items, including two dresses designed especially for this presentation.
