Trashplast, by Ecopixel & Eco-oh!

By 22-04-2018

One Week About Dutch Designers in Milan, curated by  Ventura Projects / Organisation in Design

Trashplast is a completely new material made of 100% ecological, plastic waste. It is developed by Jan Puylaert’s Ecopixel using the raw materials of Belgium based innovative plastic recyclers Eco-oh! Eco-oh! Is one of the few recycling companies that make plastic waste re-usable in a sustainable way without incineration. In 2017 they were present at Dutch Design Week showcasing an imagination of what can be done with their raw materials in the hands of Dutch designers such as Basten Leijh, Simone Post and Studio Thier & van Daalen.

With Trashplast Eco-oh! and Ecopixel take another step towards urban mining, re-using what is already there in stead of adding to the mountains of plastic waste. The project brings garbage back into our living rooms and delivers an exciting and new material for designers and brands to work with.
