Unseen Amsterdam

By 22-09-2017

Unseen Amsterdam, the leading platform for contemporary photography, returns for its sixth edition. This time led by a new artistic director: Emilia van Lynden. Focusing exclusively on what’s new in the world of photography, Unseen gives up-and-coming talent a platform to show their work.

Combining events such as the Fair, the Book Market and the Living Room (the speakers programme), Unseen aspires to provide novel and diverse approaches for engaging with photography. Welcoming galleries from around the world, Unseen connects and inspires artists, curators, collectors and photography enthusiasts on an international level.

Unseen’s main aim is the Fair, where 53 (inter) national galleries show work of 142 photographers. 95 Photographers show work that has not been shown to the public before. All works are for sale.

The Photo Pleasure Palace gives a bit more airy entertainment around photography: so completely responsible. Let your future be predicted by a photo shooter, take a photo tattoo, jump from high altitude to Donald Trump’s portrait and indulge in some aggression in the smash gallery. The amusement park is cured by photo collectors Erik Kessels and Thomas Mailaender.
