Vroege Vogels App

By 25-11-2016

Nature in the Netherlands is rich. So rich that you often wonder what it is that flies, runs or slithers by. Have you spotted an animal or a plant that you can’t identify? Especially for BNN-VARA’s Vroege Vogels (BNN-VARA’s Early Birds), Greenberry has developed the Vroege Vogels App (Early Birds App): upload a photo, video or audio fragment and put your question in the App.

The people who are familiar with Vroege Vogels – that is to say: the biggest fans – can get started right away. From the database of Naturalis, which contains nearly 15,000 types, they can choose the correct answer. The Vroege Vogels App automatically puts together an info page with relevant info about the subject. Photos, articles and television and radio clips from the Vroege Vogels database provide additional knowledge and deepening. The participants who manage to answer a question correctly are rewarded with a comprehensive points system. Since the beta version went live, the most fanatical know-it-alls have already collected thousands of points.

The Vroege Vogels App connects question and answer, not by means of a complicated algorithm, but simply from person to person. On the one side, there is someone in the dunes wondering what kind of bird is flying around, and on the other side, someone for whom recognizing birds is a fun challenge.
