WDCD LIVE – Kadir van Lohuizen

By 30-05-2022

Ahead of What Design Can Do Festival, on June 3 in Amsterdam, we introduce some of the speakers. Today we present Kadir van Lohuizen.

Based in Amsterdam, Kadir van Lohuizen is an award-winning photojournalist and has covered conflicts all over the world. He is best known for his long-term projects on the seven rivers of the world, the rising of sea levels, the diamond industry, migration in the Americas, Wasteland, where he investigated (mis)management of waste in six mega cities and the Arctic, the new frontier.

In 2000 and 2002 Kadir was a jury member of the famous World Press Photo contest and was on the supervisory board for their foundation for eight years. He recently published his latest book After Us the Deluge, spotlighting the human consequences of the rising sea levels. Kadir loves to share his experiences and what he’s learned along the way, inspiring the next generation as a frequent lecturer and photography teacher. He will also be doing this as one of the speakers during the What Design Can Do Festival on the 3rd of June.
