FASHIONCLASH Festival 2018 Highlights

By 22-06-2018

FASHION MY RELIGION! | 15 juni – 17 juni 2018 | Maastricht

FASHIONCLASH presented with Fashion My Religion! the anniversary edition of the international and interdisciplinary FASHIONCLASH Festival. During June 15-16-17 2018 more than 150 promising designers and performing artists from countries such as Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Poland, Finland up to Peru participated in the festival.

The festival was designed in the three-day The Route: an inspiring pilgrimage along 26 locations with exhibitions, talks and 15 theatre and dance performances.
The festival was opened in the Gashouder. Not only was there vlaai (flan) but also the campaign pies from Das Leben am Haverkamp could be admired from close up.

The guests of the opening could choose from four routes: Museum, Church, City and Sally. Each route consisted of a number of parts from the program such as the Koorkappen exhibition in the Bonnefantenmuseum, dance performance LUX van Sally Dansgezelschap in the Brandweer (Fire brigade Building), Babel collection of Kasper Jongejan, Showpieces exhibition in the Bijenkorf, Inspired by Religion exposition in ’t Dinghuis, installation of Amber Jae Slooten in Entre Deux and Day Dream Space installation/performance of Tim Scheffer and Audrey Apers in Centre Ceramique.

On Friday, a much-discussed pink church was literally blown up on the Vrijthof, where in cooperation with Waardengedreven a theme related program was organized with a number of speakers. The Pink Church got a lot of attention and while the churches in the Netherlands are emptying, the pink Church filled up with well-dressed guests. The festival was designed in the three-day The Route: an inspiring pilgrimage along 26 locations with exhibitions, talks and 15 theatre and dance performances.

The Fashion Show program with more than 30 designers and 12 graduates from MAFAD took place on Saturday evening, a spectacular night in a setting designed by Studio AKATAK and Scott Robin Jun.
