Exhibition ‘Jaap Drupsteen Designer Explorer’

Over the past fifty years, Jaap Drupsteen has made his mark with music, video, and videographic productions. He is now being honored with two exhibitions dedicated to his work. Today in part 1: Museum Hilversum presents ‘Jaap Drupsteen Designer Explorer’ with a selection from his oeuvre.

Jaap drupsteen (1942) was trained at the Academy of Art and Industry in Enschede (now AKI ArtEZ Institute of the Arts). He worked as a graphic designer for, among others, institutions such as NTS, VARA, VPRO and NOS.

Drupsteen has a number of well-known designs with national significance to his name, including banknotes, passport and identity card, book tokens, and the first television house style for VPRO television, leaders and animations for various TV programs. He also developed a videographic production and direction method.

The exhibition includes a wide selection of works created by Jaap Drupsteen in the period from 1965 up to 2015. Among these are works like ‘La Passione’, which are shown on projections of several meters width. The exhibition also includes a screen with a compilation of 25 video works.
