Last week, the Art Directors Club Netherlands (ADCN) presented the 49th ‘Jaarboek van Reclame en Vormgeving’ (Yearbook of Advertising and Design) in Pakhuis de Zwijger in Amsterdam. Strategist/creative Marcel Kampman (Happykamping) was invited as a curator for the book design.
Along with twelve makers from the creative industries, Marcel developed twelve different covers created with different techniques and materials. Art director Thijs Biersteker (Moore Amsterdam) provided ‘The cover that judges you’, which only grants access to the inside of the book when you do not express any judgments or emotions. In addition, also the food designers of the culinary workshop the Open Wetlab of Waag Society, design studio Oak & Morrow, multidisciplinary artist Merijn Tinga and textile designer Borre Akkersdijk participated in the project.
