Anouk van Kalmthout
Anouk van Kalmthout (1991) is an Amsterdam-based photographer who is known for her surreal and mysterious photos.
“Life does not stop at our everyday existence, there is still a whole multiverse left to discover. This is why Anouk van Kalmthout takes us on an adventure to the apparently alien images that sprout from her mind. They are comparable to the underwater world: gloomy, but at the same time indescribably beautiful.
“Anouk translates her dreams and thoughts, but there is a discouraging element to her work which causes the spectator to wait and see. Do we really want to join her on this journey? In the end, we have no choice: the magic of Van Kalmthout’s images is too big to refrain from it.”
