Constructed Surface Table

By 26-03-2016

Designer Rick Tegelaar (1986) graduated with honours from the product design department of ArtEZ Arnhem in 2011. Since then he works independently from his studio and workshop in Arnhem.

Constructed Surface Table
This tabletop is composed entirely of residual plywood material from the furniture industry. The material is bought for the same price as a new sheet of plywood, provided the factory saws it in the right format. This creates a new homogeneous resource. By bringing the material together in a fishbone pattern, there is no limit to the size or thickness of the table, and even the smallest residual piece can be used. In this way a new surface can be made which is stronger than the original material.
