Current Table

By 04-03-2015

The Current Table is a table that converts natural light into electrical energy. This energy is stored and can be used immediately to charge your iPad or phone or, for example, to light a lamp.

The entire table top consists of a ‘dye sensitized solar cell’. This is based on photosynthesis and uses the feature of color as a means to generate energy. Unlike other solar cells, such solar cells do not need direct sunlight and can therefore also be used indoors.

The Current Table is the first appliance that generates energy in a place where it can be used right away. It is a plea for a more natural, more conscious use of energy, in which aesthetics and use are inextricably linked.
