DE LUCHTPOST

By 10-11-2014

DE LUCHTPOST (The Airmail) – ‘specialized in hanging-out needs’ – is a collaboration between designers Jeroen van Leur and Sue Doeksen.

“We’re busy, we want too much and we don’t have enough time to do what we really want. It’s time for us to have some peace and tranquility. The remedy is a breath of fresh air, outdoor games, or making everything go up in the air. In short: slowing down. From now on, this is all been made possible by DE LUCHTPOST. In the form of handmade silkscreened do-it-yourself kits, DE LUCHTPOST offers products that allow you to slow down, acquire an overview, or release tension with a bang. Also fancy some lightheartedness? Feel free to pop in at DE LUCHTPOST, but please, don’t rush.”

The designs are inspired by the instructions and constructions of do-it-yourself kits and the minimalism of Korean kites. The circle, the triangle and two line widths are the only ingredients and follow the construction – cutting and folding lines of the form. The small airplanes are balsa wood slats and both the kites and the planes are screen-printed by hand at AGA Amsterdam.
