Cube Design Museum

By 17-02-2016

‘Designing the World’ is the name of the opening exhibition of the new design museum Cube in Kerkrade. For this temporary exhibition, five leading design museums have been asked to select designs that zero in on societal issues such as food, security or health.

The Design Museum London, for instance, selected the app Disclosed (a dietary manager) and Cube itself chose the conceptual Edible Growth by Chloé Rutzerveld (3-D printed food).

Innovation, driven by large and small needs, and the drive to take control of life as much as possible, lead to an ever-increasing flow of new products, services and applications. According to Cube, products that are developed from a human need – a necessity, an urge – are making the difference in the world.

Cube consists of five innovative exhibition levels with design exhibitions alternating with multidisciplinary laboratory areas, and a multifunctional floor that is for rent for various kinds of meetings.
