Designkwartier Den Haag

By 30-05-2015

With its many cafes and design shops, the Zeeheldenkwartier in The Hague is popular because of its specialist stores. It’s a neighbourhood where small businesses can flourish. During the three-day festival, the neighbourhood will be transformed into one large Design District (‘Designkwartier’). This year, too, design lovers will dive into the world of slow design, lifestyle and interior design.

Plant Power and Spruitje emphasize the power of plants, fungi and spores. There will be pop-up stores by De Luchtpost, the Danish brand Muuto, and themed stores such as a Graphic Design shop, the WOTH from editor-in-chief of ‘Eigen Huis & Interieur’ magazine Mary Hessing, and a Design Outlet Store. Well-known cultural institutions will take part in the festival as well: there are special exhibitions and presentations by Panorama Mesdag, the Historical Museum of The Hague, Stroom, the Museum of Communication, and the Royal Academy of Art.

With its prominent street activities, the second edition of the festival emphasises the connection between the participants and locations even more.
