Fornasetti

By 25-12-2015

The oeuvre of Piero Fornasetti (1913-1988) is slightly alienating, eccentric and shows a clear signature. The design house of the same name is still successfully led by the artist’s son, Barnaba Fornasetti, who thought it was about time for a dynamic new website.

Creative agency Pomo (Italy) approached Random Studio. Random went looking for the essence and decided to use Fornasetti’s drawing tools as the basis for three alluring interactive animations. It is the visitor himself who with his mouse influences the hypnotizing movements of the compass, ruler or pencil that appear on the screen in front of him.

Daan Lucas (managing director): “We really wanted to add an extra dimension to the existing wonderful body of work. The interactive element in combination with the fluid movements creates a meaningful experience.”
