Light art festival GLOW

By 07-11-2015

From November 7 up to and including November 14, 2015, Eindhoven will again be dominated by Glow, the annual light art festival. With special light installations and light projections, about fifty artists offer the spectators a surprisingly new perspective on the city. Last year, the festival attracted 650,000 visitors.

Two large light projects on the GLOW route are inspired by the work of the painter Vincent van Gogh and carried out using the latest technologies. In the project Light Study, the Hungarian artist Laszo Szolt Bordos makes the light move in Van Gogh’s painting ‘De Aardappeleters’ (The Potato Eaters). In the project Pleasant Places, the Italian artist Quayola literally brings Van Gogh’s brush strokes to life on a large screen in a natural environment.

GLOW NEXT focuses on the experiment in a number of new projects that see the light of day for the first time. Eindhoven is a city of pioneers and a breeding ground for talent in the creative, artistic and technical field, and that is what GLOW NEXT aims to show.

GLOW is open to the public free of charge.
