Hella Duijs designs and creates handmade porcelain homeware accessories. Hella’s designs are recognisable due to their understated, elegant, functional shapes and the playful contrast between matte and glazed porcelain.
Hella’s current collection consists of a series of vases with each design named after a woman significant to her. The contrast between matte and glazed surfaces always being a constant, the use of size and color in the collection have recently evolved. Her earlier designs were mostly of modest dimensions, whereas her two latest vases are considerably bigger in size. These last two also include variations with an additional color. In keeping with her signature style, this color effect is achieved by adding a tonal glaze.
