Jop van Bennekom
Foundation Ontwerp Platform Arnhem (OPA) was founded in May 2004. Its main mission is to show and stimulate the contribution of designers to the quality of the public and private environment in order to increase the recognition and professionalization of the discipline in the region.
Within the program component ‘Arnhem Exchange – Back to the Roots’, OPA extends invitations to designers who over the years graduated in Arnhem and have meanwhile left the city or country. On Thursday 30 April, the guest will be Jop van Bennekom. Van Bellekom (1970) studied graphic design in Arnhem, followed by a post-graduate training at the Jan van Eijk Akademie in Maastricht. Via Amsterdam, a working period for Viktor and Rolf and the foundation of illustrious magazines such as Re-Magazine and BUTT, he arrived in London, where he has been living for years now. Here he earned wide acclaim as a creative director, author and publisher of the magazines Fantastic Man and The Gentlewoman.
