Four filmmakers have interpreted and filmed the same chat conversation in their own unique way. Every film has exact the same timing so viewers can combine the different storylines themselves. This interactive way of storytelling, which is popular in music videos, is now applied to fiction for the first time.
Arcade and Bobcat have been chatting online for a while now. Arcade wants to meet Bobcat in the real world but Bobcat behaves evasive. Who is Bobcat? Do you ever really know who’s on the other side of an online chat?
Scriptwriter Daan Windhorst wrote the dialogue between Arcade and Bobcat. Young filmmakers Ivo van Aart, Wietske de Klerk, Colin Huijser and duo Thijs Meuwese & Daan Colijn interpreted his script and filmed it each in their own way. In all versions it appears that there is always room for online misunderstandings.
