Social label

By 25-10-2014

The aim of Stichting Social label (Foundation Social label) is to develop meaningful and attractive products to offer individuals with difficulties entering the job market a platform and challenging work.

The urgency around the issue of people who are too good for the care for the less gifted, but are excluded from regular work, is great. For this group, new customized work is required. Social label asks designers to create a design to exploit the talents of these people, so that they can develop themselves, learn a trade and get work that is appreciated. Through the products, we are telling this story, while generating together with the participating workplaces all kinds of opportunities for this vulnerable group.

A Social label is attached to each unique collaboration with a renowned designer. The first Social label >HOUT (WOOD) is introduced in collaboration with Piet Hein Eek, and Social label >VAAS (VASE) with Roderick Vos. During DDW14, the next Social labels are for Dick van Hoff with Social label >VEEG (WIPE), Marc Mulders with Social label >MASK, and Haiko Meijer (Onix architects) with Social label >STILL.

Social label is an initiative of Petra Janssen and Simone Kramer.
