Petrol Industries

By 14-05-2015

Van der Schans Concept & Design designed approximately 3000 m2 of offices and showrooms for fashion brand Petrol Industries. The interior with its vintage industrial look contrasts markedly with the modern exterior.

Wouter van der Schans: “There is an atmosfere of being in a vintage interior, with real vintage items and specially designed furniture with the same look. To achieve this we used industrial, natural and used materials like wood, leather, metal, and concrete.”

“Old oak came from discarded train wagons and was finished with oil. Outside parts were used for the separation walls in the showrooms and inside parts for tables, a bar, cupboards and stairs. There is a lot of metal as well, which had to look rough and industrial, so we finished it with a transparant laquer.”

“The walls in the main showroom are covered with sheets of different kinds of stones that were finished with paint to make them look older. For the lighting, besides new lamps we used a lot of vintage factory lamps, which were rebuilt for modern bulbs.”
